Unlike point-to-point systems, our LoRa-MESH technology allows street lights to "talk" to each other, creating a robust, self-healing wireless network.

    How LoRa-MESH Works

    In a Gebosun LoRa-MESH network, each solar street light acts as a signal repeater (node).

    Signal Hopping: If the central gateway cannot reach a distant light directly, the signal "hops" through intermediate lights to reach the destination. This extends the effective control range significantly without adding more gateways.

    Centralized Connection: You do not need a SIM card for every light. Instead, hundreds of lights connect to a single Central Gateway (Concentrator), which then uses 4G/WiFi to connect to the cloud.

    Why Choose LoRa-MESH over 4G or Zigbee?

    Lowest Operational Cost: By using only one SIM card per group (e.g., one SIM for every 100-200 lights) rather than one per light, you save massive amounts on annual data fees.

    Self-Healing Network: If one light (node) fails or its signal is blocked, the network automatically reroutes data through other lights, ensuring the rest of the system stays online.

    Neighbor Linkage (Smart Grouping): LoRa-MESH enables advanced "follow-me" lighting. When one light detects a car or pedestrian via its motion sensor, it can instantly trigger neighboring lights to brighten, creating a safe path of light ahead of the traveler.

    FAQs About Solar LoRa-MESH Smart Street Lighting Solution

    What is the maximum distance between two LoRa-MESH solar lights?

    In open areas without obstruction, the communication distance between two adjacent lights (nodes) can reach up to 1-2 kilometers. However, for stable "signal hopping" in real-world conditions, we recommend a spacing of 30-50 meters, which fits standard street light pole distances perfectly.

     

    How many lights can one Gateway (Concentrator) control?
    A single Gebosun LoRa Gateway can theoretically manage up to 200+ solar street lights. For optimal response speed and network stability, we usually recommend grouping 100-150 lights per gateway depending on the terrain.

     

    Do I need to pay data fees for every single light?
    No, this is the main advantage of LoRa-MESH. You only pay data fees for the Gateway's SIM card. The individual lights communicate with the Gateway via free radio frequency (LoRa), making the recurring operational cost significantly lower than 4G solutions.

     

    Is the setup complicated? Do I need to pair lights manually?
    The system is designed for ease of use. Gebosun's LoRa-MESH controllers often feature automatic networking. Once powered on, the lights automatically search for the nearest nodes and form the mesh network, reducing on-site configuration time.

     

    What happens if the Gateway breaks down?
    If the Gateway loses power or connection, the individual solar lights will revert to their local default program (e.g., Auto Day/Night switching + Motion Sensing). They will continue to light up every night, ensuring road safety is never compromised, even if remote control is temporarily unavailable.
